Remax agents share the qualities of other professions that are on the top rung of the
ladder. They share with one another their experiences so all may benefit.

relocating clients.
In general news, the CEO of RE/MAX - Dave Linger reported tremendous growth as follows:
For the second year, RE/MAX International has announced record growth in both franchise
sales
and sales associate growth. Final figures for 1999 show sales associate membership at
57,467,
an increase of 4,843 for the year, representing a 9.2 percent increase. Franchise sales
also
set a new record at 564 during 1999, a 6.2 percent increase over the previous record set
in
1998. RE/MAX ended the year with 3,422 opened franchises on six continents in 32 countries
and
eight territories. 1999 was the second consecutive year previous all-time growth records
were
eclipsed, with 1998 showing a 39 percent increase in franchise sales and 9.6 percent
growth in
sales associates. RE/MAX has experienced continual annual growth since its founding in
1973.
Just as exhilarating is to experience this growth without sacrificing quality -- 1998 was
a
record year for average income for RE/MAX agents and 1999 figures appear to be even
higher.
Those kinds of incomes only mean RE/MAX associates are doing an outstanding job of serving
buyers and sellers.
When the last three years, 1997, 1998 and 1999 are combined, the RE/MAX network has grown
by
1,477 new franchises and 12,887 new sales associates. To put this in perspective -- that's
more
growth in three years than the combined memberships of the Realty Executives and Keller
Williams systems have experienced since their inceptions.
Numbers are great, but the impact in the marketplace is what is truly important to us all.
And, the impact of this growth on the future of RE/MAX is phenomenal. For example -- 4,843
new
members will add $24.2 million in personal promotion to the RE/MAX name. The estimated
annual
value of RE/MAX personal promotion in local markets around the world by 57,000 Sales
Associates
will be $285 million. And that's BEFORE we even measure the results of the national
television
advertising campaign reaching millions of viewers daily in the United States and the
powerful
regional and local campaigns around the world. And, our new millennium technology projects
will greatly enhance consumer awareness of RE/MAX on the Internet and in other
technologies.
Another truly solid value this growth brings to every current and future RE/MAX Sales
Associate
is the expanded customer and referral base served by these new RE/MAX family members.
Based on
historical data, new RE/MAX members in the past three years will add about 320,000
transaction
sides to the already impressive numbers, which have allowed us all to say, " RE/MAX!
Nobody
sells more real estate."
All in all, this growth benefits everyone in the RE/MAX network through increased brand
name
awareness, more listings, more sales, more referrals and ultimately -- more new franchises
and
more new RE/MAX Sales Associates.
In the extended reach of RE/MAX around the world, 291 new franchises in the United States,
196
in Europe and 41 in Canada were added to the global family. Among the five regions leading
franchise sales in 1999 were Spain - 48, Netherlands - 43, Italy - 34, California/Hawaii -
31,
and Kentucky/Tennessee - 28.
We believe this continued growth is indicative of the global acceptance of the RE/MAX
concept.
We are very proud of our regional owners and operators as well as every local broker/owner
and
sales associate around the world for the daily commitment each one makes to the unique
RE/MAX
programs.
